There should be less politics in sport and more sport in politics.
But unfortunately it is that statement is followed is opposite direction.
Even some actions taken purely on the basis of rules and regulations of the game are given political color.
Recently we have witnessed Dhoni wearing army symbol on his gloves and and it was internationally politicized. But as per ICC rules, next match the gloves were not used.
Now there is rule in ICC world cup. If the jersy’s of opposing teams look similar , then the hosting nation should retain its jersy while the guest nation should change its appearance.
ICC asked BCCI to choose from a list of jersies, and BCCI chosen this.
So the Match with England scheduled on June 30th, due to similarity in both the jersies, India has to alter its jersy.
So the proposed jersy looks somewhat like above.
So now the congress, lutyan’s media and other BJP haters came alive with a strong objection, only because saffron or orange is in that jersy.
Had green been in that jersy, it would not have created that much controversy. But unfortunately green and blue also look similar and only contrast color available is red and orange. So the BCCI chosen orange.
I do not know their mind set. How can a color identifies with a party or ideology.
In that case the same color appears in our national flag also.
{The Congress and Samajwadi Party have opposed the orange jerseys that will be sported by the Indian cricket team when they play against England in the 2019 World Cup match on June 30.
Muslim MLAs in the Maharashtra state assembly condemned the orange jersey that will be donned by Team India.
Abu Asim Azmi, a Samajwadi Party MLA, suggested that the government was behind the decision and said that the jersey was part of growing saffronisation in the country.
"Modi ji wants to saffronise the entire country. A Muslim was the one who designed the Indian Tricolour. There are other colours in the Tricolour, why choose only orange? It will be better if their jersey is based on the Tricolour," Azmi said.
Echoing the sentiment, former minister and Congress MLA Naseem Khan said that the Modi government was playing saffron politics.
"Ever since the Modi government has come to power, it has been playing saffron politics. The Tricolour should be respected and national harmony should be promoted. This government wants to saffronise everything," said Khan.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale supported the orange jerseys that will be donned by the Indian cricket team when they face England in the World Cup. "It is the colour of courage and victory. No one should have a problem with that," Ramdas Athawale said.
The Indian cricket team will wear an orange jersey for their 7th match of the 2019 Cricket World Cup against England on June 30.
According to ICC rules, all teams in the 2019 World Cup except hosts England, needed to have provisions for two different coloured kits.
"For televised ICC events all participating teams will be required to provide for two different coloured kits, except for the host country who has a preference in the choice of colour and may, if it chooses to do so, provide only one coloured kit to be worn in all matches throughout the event. In advance of the event the teams will be notified which coloured kit will be worn in each match," the ICC had said in a release.
Currently, the Indian and England blue kits are similar. Therefore, India will wear their orange jerseys for only 1 game.
ICC said colour options were given to BCCI and the Indian board chose what went best with their colour combination. The design for the orange jersey is inspired by India's T20 kit which also has shades of orange in it.
A few photos of India's new kit had gone viral on June 22.}(1)
Only god save India form these mad people who politicizes every aspect of any action.
